I’ve been using Grammarly on and off for a number of years. I noticed they recently created a new browser plugin and figured I’d give it a try. It’s free and it’s great! When I saw they were running an affiliate program, I figured I might as well share it with others and potentially make a few bucks on a really good and useful product.
They also have a paid version that can do a lot more. Back in the day, a great SEO technique was to use commonly misspelled words sprinkled within your content to get extra traffic from google. I always laughed on the inside when people would tell me how this article or that had a misspelling in it. This technique no longer works for a number of reasons. First, Google now looks at spelling and grammar when determining the quality of the content on your site, meaning if you have low-quality content you are less likely to rank. Additionally, Google now corrects misspellings for people when they do a search and provides results based on the correct spelling.
People also use to scrape content from other sites and try to pass it off as their own. If you have a site with some good links and history behind it, you could often outrank the original content. Plagiarism still occurs quite frequently and if you are outsourcing content creating to writers, you really need to make sure they aren’t plagiarizing content and submitting it to you as original.
